NAME ORIGIN
T/BOA comes from the name Titanoboa - the largest serpent ever known to have inhabited the earth. The Titanoboa was estimated to have been as large as 50 feet and weigh up to 2500 pounds. By comparison, the average modern anaconda is only 10 - 15 feet long.
BRAND MISSION
Founded in 2013, T/BOA prides itself in our premium technical materials and craftsmanship. Mass production and fast fashion do not exist here, only gear that will function as good in the back country as it will on a night out. When it comes to creating high end clothing, bags and gear, we spare no expense in the material we use.
SUSTAINABILITY
Ventura County, California was where we first started this journey and we like our beaches, our trails and even the snow crested peaks of Mount Pinos to the east in winter, so sustainability has always been a big deal to us. We employ the use of technical fabrics from some of the world's most renowned and environmentally sustainable European textile mills. When it came time to create our first technical mid-layer product - the critically acclaimed Regulation Shirt - we partnered with Schoeller Switzerland - makers of some of world's highest performing and Bluesign approved technical fabric. Our Maremma Beanie is constructed from premium merino wool that is both biodegradable and naturally renewable. We only source renewable fabrics and those that are made in Bluesign certified fabric mills.
